Annual Long Play subscription
Long Play is an online publication launched in 2013. Long Play focuses on slow-moving journalism, publishing investigative journalism, extensive reports, profiles and essays from some of Finland’s best writers.
Long Play offers members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union an annual subscription at a special price of €44 (normally €59).
In addition to new articles, the annual subscription includes the entire extensive reading list with audiobooks: factual stories, investigative journalism, essays and reports. At the end of the week, a Friday Letter is sent to your email inbox, containing a thought-provoking column and news and reading recommendations from the editorial team. In addition, the website always offers shorter, topical reading: news, investigative pieces and cultural journalism.
Long Play content can be enjoyed however and wherever you like: long stories can be read directly from the website, downloaded to your reading device or listened to as an audio book.

Eckerö Line
Eckerö Line offers members of the SAK member organizations a discount of up to 20% on the m/s Finlandia’s passenger and vehicle ticket prices for both cruise and route trips.
The discount applies to up to three bookings per person during 2025, with a maximum of 9 people per booking.
- The 20% discount is valid on departures from Sunday to Friday between January 1, 2025, and June 8, 2025, as well as from August 11, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
- A 10% discount is valid every day from June 9, 2025, to August 10, 2025, and on Saturdays from January 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.

The Ikaalinen Spa & Resort, a recently renovated hotel with a long history, offers discounted accommodation for Union members until the end of 2025. The spa hotel is equipped with all modern comforts and is located in the beautiful lake scenery of Pirkanmaa, near sandy beaches. Online Yoga for Musicians
Freelancemuusikot ry organises yoga on Tuesdays at 9.30-10.30. The spring season starts on Tuesday 25 February 2025. The yoga classes will be held online via Google Meets.
Yoga classes are low-threshold yoga practices open to all, with the goal of holistic body and mind wellness. The content of the classes is specifically designed to meet the needs of musicians. The instructor is yoga teacher Sami Alanen.
Please bring flexible clothing and a yoga mat or other soft surface.
All members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union are welcome, regardless of their branch. You can join in at any time, even in the middle of the season, and there is no need to register in advance. The seasonal fee is the same regardless of when you join.
There will be 10 yoga classes during the spring season, and the season fee for members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union is €20. The first class is a free introductory class.

A rhythm course for people of all ages, levels and backgrounds who are interested in developing their rhythm!
Jarkko Rantala‘s ‘The Basics Of Rhythm and Drumming‘ rhythm course introduces the basics of rhythm and rhythm calculation and teaches the basics of drumming.
The course includes carefully selected general purpose exercises to strengthen musical skills such as brain function, body motor skills and general fitness. The course utilizes the Berklee College of Music drum and rhythm lessons.
The course is designed for musicians, aspiring musicians and anyone interested in rhythm, body motor skills, coordination and brain development. The service is specifically aimed at artists who have already released music.
In the coaching sessions, you’ll receive feedback, ideas, and new perspectives to help clarify and enhance your career. You’ll also get advice on specific questions and issues, including the common lack of knowledge in the industry. A safe environment, fresh viewpoints, and encouraging thoughts will certainly bring new strength, hope, and a clearer vision to your work.
The mentors are music industry influencer and music journalist Lotta Savolainen, and communications expert Katja Tolonen.
Lotta Savolainen creates new spaces and cultural opportunities, particularly focusing on recognizing the value of independent artists. She has built a multifaceted career in Finnish music, working as a music creator, press officer, agent, mentor, and music journalist. Strengthening the diversity of the music industry and unwavering commitment to values are central to Savolainen’s work. Katja Tolonen is a co-founder of the communications agency Röd. One of Röd’s main focuses is bringing new music into the spotlight. With over six years of intensive work in Finnish music, Tolonen has a strong belief in the high quality of music produced in Finland. Röd helps artists gain visibility for their music while also expanding the music offerings to a broader audience. Tolonen is also a music creator herself, with over 20 years of experience in the industry from both the major label and independent artist perspectives.
The coaching includes a 60-minute remote session (via Zoom) and a follow-up check-in via email.
