Grant services from Grant Academy at a membership price

Do you want to learn how to build a winning grant application and develop a long-term funding strategy for your artistic work?
Grant Academy mentors artists, researchers, cultural professionals and creative industry companies in finding their own path through the complex landscape of grants—and in reaching their goals successfully. The Academy supports clients in all aspects of the grant application process, from application texts to the project plan, budget, and required supporting documents.
The Academy also creates professional CVs, portfolios and websites that help present the applicant’s work and increase their visibility. If desired, the entire grant application process can be outsourced to Grant Academy.
Service packages with a 20% discount for members
Grant Academy offers its service packages to members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union with a 20% discount.
The offer is valid until further notice, and the Academy reserves the right to make changes.
The discount can be redeemed with a discount code, which can be found by logging in to the union’s Members’ Pages.

Standard prices: €49–€449 (incl. VAT)
Member benefit price: €39.20–€359.20 (incl. VAT)
Grant Academy may offer some clients a success fee model, in which the work is charged at 50% of the normal price. In addition, the Academy charges a 10% (+ VAT) fee from awarded grants.
Upon special request, work can also be carried out on a pro bono basis, meaning the service is provided free of charge. The success fee typically ranges between 10% and 20%, depending on the case. This model is always agreed separately with the client.

Background
The founder of Apuraha Akatemia, musician Teemu Laasanen, is an experienced leader, consultant and advocate in the arts and culture sector. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, he has worked in a wide range of roles across the field.
He has helped artists, researchers and organizations secure more than €2 million in funding from various foundations and public funding bodies.
Teemu is known for his analytical and visionary approach, complemented by a warm and human-centred way of working. He also uses AI tools in a human-oriented way. Teemu has a talent for translating an artist’s idea into the language of funders without losing its core essence.
He founded Grant Academy so that no good idea would remain unrealized due to lack of funding.
Mediagents Oy Multimedia Services
Mediagents Oy, a multimedia house located in Oulunkylä, Helsinki, is a company specialising in audio, music, video and streaming productions, producing and implementing media services with over 20 years of experience.
Mediagents’ services have been used by many professionals in the field, including Esa Eloranta, Heikki Hela, Timo Alakotila, Marzi Nyman, Tango-orkesteri Unto, Arttu Takalo, Heikki Silvennoinen, Kalle Ahola, Husband, SF-blues, JPP, Fröbelin palikat, Susanna Haavisto, How Many Sisters, Leningrad Cowboys and many others.
Mediagents offers editing, mixing and recording services without genre restrictions. Mediagents offers complete production packages or tailor-made audiovisual productions according to the client’s needs. The client has access to technical professionals, content production and design experts, as well as the necessary equipment and studio facilities.
Multimedia services at a discount for the members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union
Mediagents offers members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union one day of production at a discount price of €220 (normally €280). The work of the sound engineer is charged separately.

Music School Säveltie rehearsal spaces at a membership price
The Music School Säveltie, located in Pukinmäki, Helsinki, offers its facilities to the members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union at a discounted membership price.
There are three soundproofed rehearsal rooms available, suitable for personal practice with acoustic instruments (excluding the drum kit) and for use by a vocal ensemble, wind section, string quartet or other small ensembles. All spaces have an acoustic piano, the Presto room has two.
Prices and booking
Members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union can book the rehearsal rooms at Säveltie at a discount price of €15/h (normally €20/h).
Booking is done via the booking calendar.
The discount for the Union members can be claimed by informing of your membership in the booking form’s additional information field and presenting your union membership card when paying. Reservations are paid on the spot.
Säveltie is located at Säveltie 5, Helsinki.

Photo services and social media content at member prices
Elisa Silander offers members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union photo services and other social media content at a discounted price.
Silander is an event producer and the creator of the event ‘Rikotaan rajoja’, which celebrates equality. The event has already brought disabled and non-disabled artists on stage several times.
Silander is a beginner in photography and social media, with a basic knowledge of Adobe software.
Benefits for members of the Musicians’ Union
Elisa Silander offers union members 15% off the services she provides. The service includes studio space, photos taken by Silander and editing work.
The photo package / social media materials are priced at 195 € + VAT. Additional work not included in the package will be charged at €65 per hour.
Silander’s studio is located in Leppävaara, Espoo (Turuntie 42). The studio measures 25 m2.
Reservations are made by email or phone at least one week in advance. Bookings should be made on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.

Piano tuning in the Helsinki area
Musician and piano tuner Tero Kling offers piano tuning to members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union at a member price in the Helsinki area.
Kling graduated as a piano tuner from the Arla Institute in 2011. His clients include the Helsinki Central Library Oodi, the National Theatre and Teatteri Jurkka.
Kling offers piano tuning to members of the Union at a member price of €140. The normal price is 160 euros. The price includes VAT, travel and minor adjustments.
The hourly rate is €60/hour for any extra work, such as maintenance or major repairs.

Professional guidance for musicians and cultural professionals

Arja Ollila offers solution-focused professional guidance for musicians and cultural professionals who are seeking support for coping, well-being at work, and joy in their professional lives. Professional guidance helps clarify professional direction, address the specific challenges of creative work, and discover new perspectives on one’s own practice.
Ollila is a certified solution-focused professional guidance practitioner (70 ECTS), as well as a musician and pedagogue. Her extensive experience in the arts provides her with a deep understanding of the specific characteristics of the field. Ollila’s approach is calm, attentive, and clarifying, and her work is always based on the client’s individual needs and goals.
Professional guidance is available for individuals, couples, and groups, either in person in Oulu or remotely (Teams/Zoom).

Website and webshop on the Shopify platform
Shopify is an website platform that allows you to create your own website and manage your online store with ease. It’s perfect for artists, musicians and bands because of its easy-to-use online shop that makes selling tickets and merchandise a breeze.
The website can be customized according to your brand and style. The platform can be linked to social media channels, Spotify and YouTube. Shopify also integrates with a Spotify account, allowing listeners to browse online merchandise directly from the artist or band’s account.
Niclas Etelävuori offers a customised Shopify online store for members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union at a member price. Etelävuori creates the online shop according to the customer’s wishes and installs it ready to use for a member price of €750 including VAT (normally €1250). The price also includes one meeting with Niclas after the online store has been completed.
