Application period of the Finnish Musicians’ Unon’s Covid Grant 4:
Jan 19th 2022 9:00 am – Jan 26th 2022 4:00 pm.
Available to union members, the grant is for 500 € or 1000 € and can be applied for using the Union’s mobile application Muusikkojen liitto.
The Finnish Musicians’ Union’s Covid Grant 4 is open to members who have lost their livelihoods as a result of the current Covid restrictions. Priority will be given to those who have not received grants or benefits in compensation for lost revenue, or whose received grants or benefits do not offer a basic means of living.
The grant will be awarded for music work on a need-by-need basis. Its amount is 1000 € (equivalent to a work period of under two weeks) or 500 € (equivalent to a one-week work period).
All applicants will be informed about the decision within two weeks from the deadline.
Grant applications are submitted via the Union mobile application Muusikkojen liitto. Download/update the app:
Log into the mobile application using your membership number to confirm membership and identity. Membership number can be found, for example, on your membership card.

I don’t know where to find my Union membership number to log in.
The membership number is visible, for example, on the top side of your membership card. Contact sml@muusikkojenliitto.fi with any questions.
Where can I find my Gramex number?
You can find it from your profile information page in the Gramex portal.
Can I change the language of the application from Finnish to English or vice versa?
The application recognizes the language in which the device is used, according to which its language is Finnish or English. The language cannot be changed.
How do I know if my application has been received?
After submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation email. If you didn’t receive the confirmation, the application has not been received. In this case, contact the support.
I submitted my application too early / I would like to change the details of my application. Can I edit an application that has already been submitted?

In the application form, I have to sum the grants and other kinds of support I have received due to Corona pandemic. Shall I write the gross or net sum?

Can I apply for the grant if I’m not a member of the Finnish Musicians’ Union?

I applied for the Union’s Corona Grant in 2020 and/or 2021. Does that have an influence on my chance to apply for the Corona Grant 4?
You can apply again, if you applied and/or received Union’s previous Corona Grant.
Will the information I disclose in the form remain with the Finnish Musicians’ Union or is it possible that my income details and other information will be exposed to other parties?Any information you disclose will be viewed solely within the Musicians’ Union as part of the grant application process. I don’t have a smartphone. Is use of the application mandatory, or can I apply for the Corona grant some other way?
Applying for the grant requires authentication, which happens through the application either with the membership number or using an online bank. Do you have a family member or acquaintance through whose mobile device you might log into the program and submit your grant application? If not, contact the Finnish Musicians’ Union’s corona support email, koronatuki@muusikkojenliitto.fi.
Are royalties part of income, when counting the sum in the application?
Royalties paid by Teosto is not included in the income of a music performer when applying for the Covid grant, as it is not income received as a music performer but income received as a creator of music. Gramex royalties, on the other hand, are based on the use of recorded musical performances, so they are the revenue generated by the performer of the music.
